Feylhin the Savage This was another miniature I've had for quite a while, but somehow never got down to working on before now. When I finally did get started, I got the idea to paint her up in a post-apocalyptic setting instead of the usual fantasy/barbarian theme that I've seen used on this particular mini. When I was thinking of how to create the image I wanted besides the base, I came up with the idea of using a couple of well-known (though slightly altered) brands on the little clothing present on the mini. After that, there wasn't so much to think about regarding the colour scheme. The one other thing that I decided would contribute at least a bit to the image I wanted was the bar code tattoo on the back of her head - although it didn't quite come out as clearly as I had hoped... The base was also relatively straightforward - I just added a few bits and pieces that would be buried under rock and dirt to add to the post-apocalyptic image I was after. I quite enjoyed painting this one, as it gave me an opportunity to try out quite a few things, and I also tried out a couple of the P3 paints from Privateer Press, which worked very well. I suppose the main thing I like about the end result is that I think I managed to come up with something that's different from most of the other versions of this mini, without doing any conversion work. |
